HydraFacial on The Doctors Show

In this "Anti-Aging" episode, Dr. Ordon demonstrated the cutting-edge, non-invasive, no-downtime HydraFacial® treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and dehydrated skin.

HydraFacials Explained

The HydraFacial is a multi-step facial treatment that includes a combination of cleansing, exfoliating, extracting, and hydrating the skin with serums using the patented ‘HydraPeel’ Tip.

Simply put, the HydraFacial gently exfoliates, removes impurities, and bathes your skin in moisture-rich serums customized to your skin’s unique needs and concerns.

How It Works

The HydraFacial treatment begins by cleansing the skin in order to remove dirt, makeup residue, and dead skin cells from the skin before exfoliation.

The next step, known as hydro-dermabrasion, uses a small "deplaning" tool to exfoliate the skin. An acid peel solution is then applied to allow for further exfoliation and to help brighten the skin.

The peel, made up of salicylic and glycolic acids, helps to further break up any dirt and oil that's clogging the pores.

After the exfoliation is complete, the HydraPeel Tip acts as a mini vacuum for the face that sucks out blackheads, dirt, oil, and impurities. At the same time, powerful serums are simultaneously infused into the skin to provide hydration.

These serums are rich in antioxidants and collagen and can be customized depending on your individual skin type and skin concerns. This is what leaves your skin feeling incredibly hydrated, soft, and dewy afterwards.

What It Treats

The HydraFacial helps treat and reduce the appearance of:

  • Dry, dull skin

  • Enlarged pores

  • Clogged pores

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

The end result is a brighter, plumper, more hydrated and youthful-looking complexion.

Unique 4-in-1 Technology

Who Should Get a HydraFacial?

The amazing thing about the HydraFacial is that it’s not limited to just one type of skin or skin concern. In fact, almost anyone can benefit from a HydraFacial, as it targets and helps treat a variety of common skin concerns such as uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, blackheads, large pores, and dull, dry skin.

The HydraFacial’s long list of benefits includes a more hydrated, bright, plump, and clear complexion. It can even help reduce the signs of aging.

However, it’s not an effective treatment for severe acne, nor is it indicated for deep lines and wrinkles.

How It Works for Oily/Acne-Prone Skin

The HydraFacial works great for oily and acne-prone skin because it uses vortex technology to remove nearly all traces of dirt, oil, and sebum from the skin that clog your pores and lead to acne.

The exfoliation and acid peel also help to diminish the appearance of acne scars, leaving a smoother and clearer complexion.

How Long the Treatment Takes

Getting a HydraFacial is often called a “lunch break skin treatment” because it’s so quick and requires no downtime. The treatment itself usually takes only 30-45 minutes, allowing you to get right back to your day afterwards.

When You'll Start Seeing Results

The HydraFacial produces immediate results. Right after the treatment, you will experience a more hydrated, plump, and dewy complexion, and notice fewer blackheads – or none at all.

Throughout the week afterwards, you will notice continued benefits.

To ensure longer-lasting results, it’s recommended that you take good care of your skin, stay hydrated, and receive HydraFacial treatments regularly.

Pain Level

The HydraFacial is completely non-invasive and pain-free.

However, you may feel a slight tingling sensation during the second “peeling” step, but this should not cause any pain or major discomfort.

Your skin may appear slightly pink after the treatment, but this typically subsides within an hour and will not cause you any pain.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ Is a HydraFacial right for my skin?

The HydraFacial is designed to help treat dry skin, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, oily skin, and fine lines and wrinkles.

Therefore, those who are experiencing these conditions will typically be a suitable candidate for a HydraFacial.

The HydraFacial is incredibly versatile and can be customized for most skin types. However, we do not recommend the HydraFacial for skin with active acne breakouts or other skin irritations.

If you do have severe acne, please consult your dermatologist, as we do not treat active acne at our Clinic.

+ I am on medications/skin creams for my skin condition. Can I still have a HydraFacial?

You can usually have a HydraFacial even if you are taking medication or following a special skin-care routine. However, please inform the aesthetician of any medicated creams or prescriptions you may be taking before your treatment, as some medications can cause skin sensitivity.

+ Can the HydraFacial get rid of all my wrinkles?

The HydraFacial effectively exfoliates and deeply hydrates your skin. It also infuses your skin with nourishing serums. These effects, combined, will help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leave you with more plump and hydrated skin.

However, for deeper lines and wrinkles, we recommend other treatments, such as Botox® Cosmetic , Juvederm™, eDermastamp® or Fractional Laser Resurfacing.

+ Why is a HydraFacial good for my skin?

The HydraFacial helps improve the overall appearance of the skin in a variety of different ways.

Exfoliation helps to slough away dry, flaky skin and dead skin cells, while the extraction helps to remove pore-clogging and acne-causing impurities from deep within the skin. And the infusion of serums helps to restore moisture and can target various different skin concerns.

The combination of all three helps to unclog pores and get rid of blackheads, even out skin tone and texture, reduce the appearance of large pores, lines, and wrinkles, and hydrate the skin.

+ How long does the procedure take?

One of the most significant advantages of the HydraFacial compared to other skin treatments is that it only takes around 30-45 minutes and allows you to get right back into your regular routine immediately afterwards.

+ Is there any recovery or downtime?

No, none at all. That’s what makes the HydraFacial so unique compared to other facials or skin treatments. The HydraFacial is completely non-invasive and has zero side effects. Immediately after the treatment, you can get right back into your regular routine. Just be careful not to rub or irritate your face, wear makeup, or exfoliate your skin using a chemical exfoliant for 12 hours after the treatment.

+ How long do results usually last?

The dewy, hydrated glow can last for up to 7 days after the HydraFacial. Other effects such as unclogged pores and more even complexion can last longer by taking good care of your skin.

However, it’s recommended that you continue having HydraFacials every 4 to 6 weeks for consistent, lasting results.

+ How many treatments will I need?

Although your skin will be glowing and radiant after your first HydraFacial, we recommend a series of six treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, for more lasting results.

After that, you can maintain the results by having a HydraFacial every four months.

+ What are the possible side-effects?

Most patients report no side effects whatsoever after having a HydraFacial, however, it is common for your skin to be a bit pink for an hour after the treatment.
