How you use Latisse®

+ How does Latisse make my eyelashes longer?

Every hair goes through several stages in it's natural growth cycle: an active growing phase, a resting phase, and a phase where the hair falls out.

It is believed that Latisse® works by prolonging the growth phase.

+ How long will it take before I see results?

You will begin to notice your lashes look longer after four weeks, but it takes up to 16 weeks for full effect.

+ Is it safe? What are the possible side effects?

The most common side effects of using Latisse® are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. These were reported in approximately 4% of patients. Other, less common side effects include skin darkening where Latisse® is applied. All of these side effects have resolved after discontinuing use.

+ How long has Latisse been used?

Latisse® was first approved by the FDA for use in the United States in December 2008.
However, it is derived from the drug bimatoprost, which has been used for years to treat glaucoma. In medical applications, the liquid is dropped directly into the eye. As a result, it's safety profile and side effects are well established.

+ What will happen if I stop using Latisse?

If you stop using Latisse®, your lashes will gradually return to their original state.
