Discover the Secret to Restoring a Post-Summer Glow to Your Skin

Now that the fall is firmly upon us and the weather has turned cooler, do you find yourself looking in the mirror and thinking, “Yikes! When did my skin start looking so ruddy and old?” It’s probably because you’ve been enjoying the wonderful sunny weather we’ve had this summer and spent a lot of time outdoors - maybe not being so diligent with the sunscreen - and now your skin is bearing the brunt of it. Luckily, there’s help. The HydraFacial might be just what you need to restore your radiant-looking skin.

With immediate benefits like intense hydration, exfoliation, and clearer, plumper skin, it’s no wonder this new and very popular, post-summer skincare treatment has even A-list celebrities raving.

Keep reading to learn more about how the HydraFacial can help address a variety of skin concerns and restore that dewy, summer glow.

The Toll Summer Takes on Your Skin

While summer is most people’s favourite season, it is possibly the worst when it comes to the impact it has on your skin.

The excessive heat, sun exposure, humidity, and chlorine in pool water are extremely harmful to the skin. And by September, most people will experience dull, dry, and flaky skin, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and even premature wrinkles.

Not to mention all the sweat and excess oil production that comes with the summer heat can clog your pores and cause acne.

So, what can be done to revive damaged skin as summer comes to an end? That’s where the HydraFacial comes in.

What Is the HydraFacial And Why Is It So Popular?

The HydraFacial is one of the hottest, most popular skin care treatments available across the globe right now.

In fact, the treatment is so popular, it’s estimated that one is performed every 15 seconds somewhere in the world. It’s even adored by celebrities like Beyoncé, Kate Winslet, and Amy Poehler.

So, what is it about this treatment that makes it so incredible?

For starters, the HydraFacial targets and treats a variety of skin concerns, from dryness to uneven skin tone and texture, and fine lines and wrinkles.

It’s also known for producing immediate results without any downtime. These results include a more hydrated, bright, and clear complexion, along with reduced signs of aging.

How the HydraFacial Can Benefit You Post-Summer

As the name suggests, the main focus of the HydraFacial is hydration, which let’s face it, even those of us with oily skin could use a bit of by the end of summer.

The treatment exfoliates and infuses your skin with various serums and antioxidants, resulting in more radiant and healthy-looking skin.

The HydraFacial also helps reduce the appearance of:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Brown spots

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Enlarged pores

  • Clogged pores

What Is Involved in The HydraFacial?

Now you might be wondering, what does this amazing facial treatment actually involve?

The HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment that clears out your pores using suction, exfoliates the skin, and infuses it with serums.

Cleansing

The first step is to cleanse your skin to provide a clean slate for the treatment and help remove any dirt or makeup residue that is clogging your pores.

Exfoliation

Once your skin is nice and clean, you will experience what is known as hydro-dermabrasion.

For this step, the patented Hydropeel Tip will be used to exfoliate the skin, open up the pores, and gently lift away any impurities and dead skin cells.

Acid Peel

The next step is a gentle acid peel that contains 7.5% glycolic acid and 2.5% salicylic acid.

This will help to further loosen debris from your pores and brighten your skin.

While an acid peel may sound scary and painful, it is actually very gentle, and you will only feel the slightest tingle.

Extractions

Now here is the fun part. If you’re the type of person that likes watching blackhead extraction videos and squeezing your own blemishes (although we don’t recommend it), there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this part of the treatment.

Rather than the traditional manual extractions, a ‘vortex-extraction nozzle’– kind of like a mini vacuum – will be used to suck the impurities and blackheads out from deep within your pores.

(And yes, you will be able to see everything that was extracted afterwards.)

Hydration/Serum-Infusion

The ‘vortex-extraction nozzle’ used for the extractions will also be used to infuse your skin with powerful serums rich in antioxidants and collagen to help promote elasticity and hydration.

Other serums may be used depending on your individual skin type and concerns.

When Will I Start Seeing Results?

The great thing about the HydraFacial is that it produces immediate, long-lasting results with no side effects (with the exception of a pinkish glow that disappears shortly after the treatment).

Right away, you will notice your skin feeling smoother, more radiant, super hydrated, and dewy soft.

Over the next week or so, you will notice further improvements.

And while you may notice your results last for some time after a HydraFacial, additional treatments are recommended to help maintain these results, especially if you have skin concerns that could not be fully rectified after just one treatment. In these cases, additional treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, will result in additional improvements and longer-lasting results.

Post HydraFacial Dos and Don’ts

For 12 hours after your HydraFacial treatment, avoid touching or picking your skin to avoid any irritation. Also avoid makeup and heavy exercise to help prevent clogging your freshly cleaned pores.

For three days post-treatment, stay away from any chemical exfoliants. It’s also important to wear SPF, as your skin becomes more vulnerable to UVA and UVB damage.

How to Maintain a Proper Skincare Routine Going Forward

The best way to maintain your results after having a HydraFacial is to up your skincare regimen and take good care of your skin going forward. Our medical aestheticians can offer guidance on a good skin care routine.

Protect and Moisturize

Protecting your skin with SPF and applying moisturizer is an incredibly important component of any skincare routine, but even more so after a HydraFacial.

In order to maintain that hydrated and glowy complexion for as long as possible, be sure to moisturize your skin and apply SPF daily.

Hydration

It’s true what they say – beauty comes from within. And the same goes for having good skin.

When your body is dehydrated, your skin will also be affected, resulting in acne, dry, flaky skin, and other issues.

Drinking lots of water helps to flush toxins out of your body, leading to clearer skin. It also helps increase firmness around the face and prevent wrinkles.

Therefore, making sure that you are drinking enough water after your HydraFacial will help you see longer-lasting results.

While it’s important to take good care of your skin any time of year, due to the damaging effects of the summer season, it becomes even more crucial as fall starts to approach.

So, if you find that your skin is not looking and feeling its best post-summer and could use a bit of a pick me up, consider the HydraFacial to help restore a radiant glow.
